The national Local Authority WARP was originally pilotted in 2002, and created a Warning, Advice and Reporting Point (WARP) for nine regions in England. Several of the WARPS which were created as part of this programme collapsed, but a few are still standing strong. Taking lessons from the successful WARPs, Silverthorn Associates is enveavouring to make sure that all Local Authorites are signed up to a WARP so that they can benefit from the sharing of knowledge that they bring. Information about the National Local Authority WARP project can be found at www.nlawarp.gov.uk
Silverthorn Associates currently operate WARPS for Local Authorities in the South West and East of England and in Wales. We are currently working to launch WARPs in Northern Ireland and the Yorkshire and Humber regions.
The TIGER Scheme provides a means of independently certifying the skills of vulnerability test (penetration test) engineers. As of September 2009, Silverthorn Associates are are acting as the Operating Authority for the scheme.
